Stockpiling Survival Food
$800 per month year food budget.
I saw an interesting website where a mother has developed a systematic way to keep a food budget for a family of four down to $800 per month year. That is an average $0.18 per meal.
Here is a link to an explanation on how she keeps her food budget at $800 per month year.
There is a lot of great info on her blog that can also be used for stockpiling food. How to stockpile food but have a balance of all the types of food you need. You can utilize these methods to manage your food budget and use the extra cash you save now to add to your long term stockpile.

Just passing through…at least, at the moment. I may be back!
I wanted to point out though, that the $800 is per _YEAR_ - not per month as you state above.
I went to her site, and don’t know how she’s going to make it…she’s already up to $554 and it’s only March! Still…not too shabby.
Thanks suek, I saw the site a few days before I wrote the post and made the mistake. $800 per year is such an amazing number.
She credits her budget with gift cards “Gift cards are obtained from trades, special promotions, survey sites, rebates,” so the $800 per year represents the amount she spends out of pocket for her family.
“Any money earned from surveys or rebates is added back”
She also says she only spends one hour a week finding deals and coupons and 30 minutes shopping.
